The organisers say deadline has been extended to take account of the Christmas and New Year holidays - a peak time for work experience opportunities. Heather Collier, NCWE Manager, said: "Many student work experience placements take place during the busy weeks around Christmas and New Year when organisations need extra support to manage heavy workloads; and students are looking to redress the financial severity of a first term at university. "For bosses who offer genuine learning opportunities; for students who feel they really benefited from a great workplace experience; and for careers advisors who have first hand experience of best practice, the NCWE Awards are the best way to ensure good work experience placements are recognised, encouraged and rewarded." Students, employers and careers advisers who have been involved in work experience placements are invited to nominate those organisations that they believe offer exemplary placements. Entries can be made online at: Short-listed finalists will be visited by a member of the judging panel and winning organisations invited to receive a specially commissioned trophy at an Awards ceremony at London's Café Royal in March 2008.
