Norwich Union Life implements InfoBasis ESM

Norwich Union has deployed InfoBasis Enterprise Skills Manager (InfoBasis ESM) throughout the IT department of its Life Business Unit. The company is using the technology to help ensure industry skills standards are met and personnel deployed effectively.

InfoBasis ESM underpins the Norwich Union Life People Programme, which is designed to enable constant, business-focused development and deployment of 850 permanent IT staff.

Paul Briggs, Norwich Union Life head of practices and skills, said: "Our aim is to drive capability growth and effective deployment across the organisation and with InfoBasis ESM our aims are beginning to be realised.

"With our development programme, we can assess skills and job roles against target levels we have set - which incorporates the Skills Framework for the Information Age (SFIA)."

"NU Life now has 30 Professional Development Managers engaging in one-to-ones with their staff to determine the best course of development. In addition, we have 8 Resource Deployment Managers who find the most suitable tasks for the individual."
