Inmarsat chooses new LMS

The Matchett Group is supplying Pathlore's learning management system (LMS) to Global mobile satellite communications operator Inmarsat.

Inmarsat's Training manager Clayton Littlewood said: "We will use the LMS to launch and track our e-learning programs which provide new product training; on-line students will be able to send Inmarsat web-based feedback after they have completed the courses; it will streamline and centralise our training administration function; the LMS reporting function will be used to track costs and numbers, and the testing facility will help us to find out how effective the e-learning has been.

"There will be an extensive training programme for the new Inmarsat 1-4 satellite system, which from 2005 will support the Inmarsat Broadband Global Area Network (B-GAN) – mobile data communications at up to 432kbits/s for internet access, mobile multimedia and many other advanced applications. This will all be managed by the LMS."

Matchett Group account manager Jamie Cole commented: "The Pathlore LMS, which The Matchett Group is supplying to Inmarsat, provides the best fit for their training needs. Pathlore and The Matchett Group have extensive experience in working with world-wide customers such as Inmarsat. "
