Nicola Dugdale of Specialist Training in Accrington and Lesley Burrows of Vedas Recruitment & Training in Blackburn were among 53 business owner-managers from various sectors graduating from Lancaster's programme. The LEAD ('Leading Enterprise and Development') programme, run by Lancaster University's Management School, aims to develop leadership for enterprise growth. It concentrates on two areas of the business, the business itself and the personal development of the owner-manger. The university says the programme is taught through a mix of master classes, mentoring, workshops, business support, coaching, action learning and shadowing as well as job swaps. The LEAD programme, aimed at businesses with between four and 20 employees, will begin again this September, and the university says it will be running free preview and taster sessions for interested businesspeople on 16 May, 12 June and 18 July.
