The initiative was launched by Chancellor of the Exchequer Gordon Brown in June. David Kershaw said: "The Chancellor has presented us with a golden opportunity to achieve a step change in the impact of the cultural and creative sectors by nurturing the cultural leaders of the future. "The Cultural Leadership Programme is now up and running and I am confident that in its two years it will encourage a more diverse and representative leadership, and respond to the challenges of this most dynamic sector of the economy." David Kershaw and members of the Board are to meet and discuss the key leadership challenges for the creative and cultural industries in the 21st century at a Dialogue on Leadership, taking place at Rich Mix, in Bethnal Green on 15 November. The event will be hosted by Baroness Lola Young of Hornsey and opens a series of debates on current issues that impact upon the cultural leadership arena.
