Centre launches diversity training and consultancy service

The Psychometrics Centre at Cambridge Assessment, part of the University of Cambridge , has launched a diversity training and consultancy service.

The first of its diversity courses, Diversity Awareness and Management, will take place this year on May 23 and 24. The course is aimed at managers and professionals who are involved in the recruitment, development and management of diverse groups of people.

Paula Cruise, an occupational psychologist at The Psychometrics Centre, said: "HR practitioners identify diversity as one of the most important issues facing organisations. There are many reasons for this. These include the increasingly tough legal downside of getting your workforce processes wrong given the amount of equal opportunities legislation that has been passed.

"But, on a more positive note, a genuinely diverse organisation benefits from an enriched range of individual strengths, experiences and perspectives and gains the cross-cultural understanding to access a wider market."
