Proskills appoints national manager for Wales

Proskills, the Sector Skills Council for the paint & coatings, extractives, glass, building products and print industries, has appointed Andy Bradburn to the post of National Manager for Wales.

"Industrial SMEs today are having a difficult time," said Bradburn "They know staff training is essential if their companies are to remain competitive, but finding and obtaining that training is very complicated.

"With so many other pressing demands, many employers simply have not been able to find the time to work their way through the maze of options. It is my task to ease that task for them."

Norman Faulkener, technical manager of Aberystwyth-based Cambrian Printers and chairman of the Wales Print and Coatings Forum, commented: "We are very positive about developments that focus on Wales and training, and therefore very much welcome Andy's appointment. Partnerships under the Proskills banner give employers in Wales a really important opportunity to get involved."
