London Excellence award winners announced
Specialist recruitment organisation, Partners Group has won the People Development Award in the first London Excellence Awards, a new scheme that aims to celebrate outstanding companies in and around the capital.
The Sheraton Skyline was also among the winners picking up the London Excellence Award for Organisational Learning. The judges praised the Sheraton Skyline for its strong recruitment and induction programme as well as its very impressive staff retention figures.
The awards were announced at a ceremony held earlier this week hosted by BBC business journalist Adam Shaw. Keynote speaker was Sir Digby Jones, Director General of the Confederation of British Industry.
The award judges congratulated EC4-based Partners Group for the strong retention, motivation and incentives provided to its 72-strong staff. "Their company development is clearly underpinned by developing the right people", they said.
Tim Smeaton, Managing Director of Partners Group said, "It truly is fantastic news, and we are absolutely delighted that out commitment to excellence has been recognised. Our people are without doubt our strongest asset, and the phenomenal growth and success of Partners Group over the last five years can be directly linked to the innovation and development of our people".
London Excellence Chairman Caroline Buttery commented: "The awards celebrate the success of organisations driving growth and improved performance by delivering quality and excellence in all areas of business. By winning this award, Partners Group has proved that it is one of the companies leading the way for others in the capital to follow."
Commenting on their award, Flavio Bucciarelli, General Manager at the Sheraton Skyline, said, "I am thrilled by the fact that the Sheraton Skyline has won this unique distinction through fierce competition with other very strong organisations!
"It is a great pleasure to see Skyline being selected as the best in Organisational Learning in London's Excellence Awards 2005. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all the staff that proved with their hard work that excellence is developing and thriving within our organisation."
Sheraton Skyline Training Manager, Grace Gray, said, "The hotel has been implementing improvements since its inception. Achievements have included major renovations, increased partnerships and synergies with other businesses, as well as increased environmental awareness.
"To date it is proudest of achieving Investors In People awards for the 4th consecutive time and recently awarded the Leadership and Management Award from its employees loyalty and diversity of its workforce."
