CIM launches Online Professional Diploma In Marketing

The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) is launching a brand new online qualifications package for marketers in September.

The qualification programme - the Online Professional Diploma in Marketing - is delivered through a 'blended' route - the majority of study takes place in the online classroom but also includes five face-to-face workshop days and business-related assignments. The intensive programme spans over just nine months.

An interactive online learning portal called 'CIM City' is available to learners throughout the programme, enabling them to chat online, take part in discussions with fellow delegates, as well as access to online resources and online tutor support provided by experienced practitioners. This platform will take a central role in supporting a number of other qualification programmes as well as training courses delivered by CIM in the future.

A pilot of the new online programme is currently taking place. The course is fully booked and includes senior marketers from companies such as Rolls Royce, Macromedia, Brand Finance, Global Asset Management, and COI Communications.

Its online nature enables people from a number of geographic regions to study together - the pilot is being undertaken by delegates from the UK, Switzerland, France, Saudi, Sweden, Japan, and Norway. Pilot delegates have found the method of studying online with other marketers extremely rewarding - meaning that no study takes place in an isolated fashion.

Neil Scurlock, CIM's Corporate Training Manager comments, "CIM's strategy sets out a path to becoming the world's leading professional body for marketers. We have embraced opportunities created by advancements in learning technology by developing an e-learning strategy to support this organisational path. Our content development and learning portal are key steps that will enable us to better serve our global clients and increase our international presence."

Each qualification programme is inclusive of 12 months CIM affiliate membership, all online interactive tutorials, five face-to-face workshops, course materials, four assignments, core textbooks and 12 months access to CIM City - the online learner support portal.
