Ashridge launches new programme for management development professionals

Business school Ashridge, in conjunction with the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) has launched a new open programme aimed at those people with responsibility for their organisations' management development.

The LINK (Learning, Innovation, Networking, Knowledge) programme was originally launched and run over the last four years by EFMD. A newly designed programme has been developed by Ashridge and EFMD and will be run as part of the Ashridge open programme portfolio starting in May 2005.

"The choice of Ashridge to be our partner is based upon the extraordinary complementarity of our two organisations. It is very exciting to be joining forces with an organisation whose experience in its three core areas of executive education, consulting and research will build on the LINK programme's success so far," said Eric Cornuel, Director General, EFMD.

The LINK programme is structured around two residential modules of 3 days each and aims to help participants to develop and implement a management development (MD) strategy. The programme uses the analogy of an architect to introduce participants to the standards, principles and best practice 'building blocks' of management development.

The programme then sets out to guide participants through a variety of hands-on experiences using virtual learning, psychometrics and executive coaching. These experiences are designed to help the 'MD Architect' explore the most appropriate method of delivery to meet their organisation's MD needs and to develop and implement a MD plan.

Phil Anderson, Ashridge Programme Director said, "The role of management development is pivotal in organisations. The LINK programme provides the people responsible for this important strategic resource with the tools and expertise to apply the latest management development thinking and learning."

The LINK programme is due to run on 17-19 May and 20-22 September, 2005. Programme fees are £7,500 inclusive of all residential costs.
