BAOL and The Forum for Technology in Training merge to form the British Learning Association
The British Association for Open Learning and The Forum for Technology in Training have announced the successful merger of the two organisations to form the British Learning Association.
Dr Ann Limb, Chief Executive, Ufi/learndirect officially launched the British Learning Association on Tuesday 18th November at the World of Learning Conference and Exhibition at the NEC, Birmingham.
Commenting on the merger, Irene Cooke, former Chair of the British Association for Open Learning said, "Following the amalgamation of BAOL and The Forum, it is a great opportunity to bring together the two leading learning and technology organisations in the UK. The British Learning Association will provide a wealth of experience and expertise in learning innovation".
Karen Velasco, Chairman of The Forum for Technology in Training added, "We will offer members wide ranging solutions to meet training and development needs for the future. Using innovative learning techniques and technologies will enable them to further improve best practice and excellence in learning"
The British Learning Association successfully launched with a membership of 300 organisations comprising of 600 individuals from across the sectors.
