Seventy attend SummitSkills conference

Seventy delegates attended the second annual conference for industry tutors organised by SummitSkills, the Sector Skills Council for the building services engineering sector.

The aim of the event was to provide lecturers in subjects such as heating, ventilating, air conditioning and refrigeration with information, support and guidance.

Themes covered on the day included portfolio building, qualifications, candidate assessment and tracking, and qualifying existing workers. Guest speakers included representatives from SummitSkills, City & Guilds, NG Bailey, HVCA and Leeds College of Building.

Neil Collishaw, SummitSkills' Development Manager, said: "This is the second year such an event has been held for the training network. By bringing lecturers together we are creating a pool of experts that can benefit from each others' work and standardise the way industry qualifications are delivered."
